Faroes 17 Mar – 4 May 2015

There was a total eclipse of the Sun in March 2015. The only places on land where you could see totality were Svalbard and the Faroe Islands, so we decided to visit the Faroes by ship from Newcastle. Whilst we hoped for a view of the eclipse we realised that with over 260 rainy days a year we might be out of luck! So we treated it as a trip to a new destination with the possibility of seeing a total solar eclipse. In the end we didn't see totality, but we did have an enjoyable time in an interesting place.
